The security authorities in Somalia said that at least 13 persons were killed and other 27 wounded, during the two past days in the continued armed struggles between armed men belonging to one tribe in Beletoin city in the center of the country.
The deputy governor of the district where the city is situated, Abdullah Abdi Kofi, said that the fighting erupted on Sunday between armed fighters from Jaljil branch tribe which affiliates to Hawye group.
He added that 10 persons were killed on Monday morning, while other three were killed on Sunday.
Kofi said that leaders of the tribes which tried to halt acts of violence and finalize a cease fire agreement failed in defusing the crisis. They said that the warring sides refused to listen to them.
Meantime, sources in the Somali capital stressed that the fighting, the most recent in the series of revenge armed clashes, among tribes is of deeply rooted hostilities.
The armed clashed among tribes is a common matter in Somalia which lacks a central government since the toppling of President Muhammad Zeyad Berri in 1991.
