Libya ratifies NPT

Libya approved yesterday to be the 109th country to ratify the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). The statement of the "preparatory committee of the NPT" came in Vienna after Libya's announcement in December 2003 to end all programs related to weapons of mass destruction. Libya also vowed to sign the additional protocol of the NPT.
The organization said that by signing the treaty Libya approved to receive a monitory center in Misrata.
