Coming Arab Summit a chance for a new effective institution of Arab joint action; not just more talk
Regional, Politics, 1/14/2004

Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa said that all the Arabs hope that the coming Arab Summit will shape a new phase for the joint Arab action. He added that we have a chance to give a new birth certificate for institutions of joint Arab action in order to perform their role in supporting Arab cooperation.

Moussa made it clear that institutions of joint Arab action accomplished great achievements according to their capabilities and financial resources. He noted that Arab specialized organizations must get support in order to fulfill their commitments and national responsibilities.

Meantime, Moussa refuted claims that the next Arab summit will be held in Sharm El-Sheikh.

In an interview with the Saudi daily newspaper Al-Jazeera, Moussa said that the next summit will be in Tunis next March as planned.

The forthcoming summit would discuss various Arab issues, notably the Palestinian question, the situation in Iraq, and proposals for reforming the AL Charter and restructuring the League, Moussa said.
