Talibani commends Egyptian- Kurdish relations

Member of the Interim Governing Council in Iraq, and leader of the Kurdistani National Federation party, Jalal Talibani, commended yesterday in front of an official Egyptian delegation Kurdish- Egyptian relations.
Talibani said during his meeting of an official Egyptian delegation, which was the first of its kind chaired by Hussein al-Qalla, the secretary of the Egyptian ministry of health, currently visiting northern Iraq that " he Egyptian open political, economic, trade and cultural presence in the Kurdish areas reflects the deep relations linking the Kurdish and Egyptian peoples." He added " we are grateful for the Egyptian government over its effective role in the region that falls in the interests of the Iraqis."
Talibani praised the Egyptian stances towards the Kurds under the rule of the late Egyptian President Jamal Abdul Nasser, especially opening a Kurdish- language radio, founding a Kurdish printing and cultural house, as well as the role played by al-Azhar mosque in Egypt in graduating several Kurdish men of religion. The Egyptian delegation also visited Halbja city.
