Egyptian-Sudanese parliamentary committee seeks integration projects

The Egyptian-Sudanese Parliamentary Committee held a meeting on Thursday under Speaker of the the Egyptian People's Assembly, Ahmed Fathi Sorour, and Speaker of Sudanese Parliament Ahmed Ibrahim AI-Taher.

The meeting tackled the Egyptian-Sudanese integration projects, regional and international issues and the pan-Africa Parliament.

The two sides stressed importance to put the integration projects into force, highlighting the Egyptian role to achieve peace and security in Sudan.

Sorour stressed the importance to realize integration between Egypt and Sudan and to develop the human and natural potentials of the two countries for achieving the strategic, political, social and economic interests of the two countries.

He called for pushing forward the relations between the two countries under the Egyptian-Sudanese integration fund, stressing that the two countries are willing to herald new horizons of integration between the two countries.

On his part, Speaker of the Sudanese Parliament Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Taher said that the visit of President Mubarak to Sudan in April gave an impetus to the relations between the two states.

The Egyptian-Sudanese Parliamentary Committee will issue a communiquˇ on the outcomes of its meetings and the efforts to push forward integration relations between the two states.
