Large funeral for al-Hudeibi; Muhammad Hilal is new guide for the Muslim Brothers in Egypt

A large funeral was held yesterday for Mamoun al-Hudeibi, the general Murshid (guide) of the Ikhwan al-Muslimin (Muslim brothers) in Egypt, in Rabeya al-Adaweyah mosque in Naser city in Cairo following Friday's prayers. Thousands of Egyptian took part in the eulogy ceremony, while large number of Egyptian police were deployed around the mosque.
Muslim brothers leading figures held an urgent meeting before the eulogy, and decided to choose lawyer Muhammad Hilal, the eldest of the members, to act on behalf of the late Murshid, until a new Murshid is elected within two months.
Al-Hudeibi, the 6th Mursid for the Muslim Brothers died yesterday at dawn at his house after he was admitted to hospital following pains in the stomach.
