Six killed in an explosion near a mosque in Baqouba
Iraq-USA, Military, 1/10/2004
Six persons were killed and 37 wounded, at least, in a bomb explosion near a mosque for the Shiite, following Friday's prayers in Baqouba city, to the north of Baghdad. News reports said that the bomb went off after worshippers got out of al-Haj Sadeq Banin mosque, in the downtown of the city.
News were contradictory on the reason of the explosion. Some talked about a booby trapped car explosion, while others accused the American occupation forces of bombarding the position.
In al-Ramadi area, one American armored vehicle was exposed to an explosive implanted on the roadside. In Kerbalaa city, missiles were fired at a police center, resulting in damage to the building with no human casualties were reported.
In another incident, the Iraqi police stressed that two Iraqi brothers were killed on Thursday evening, when a mortar fell in their house's garden near Baqouba.
One Iraqi soldier was wounded, as unidentified persons fired missiles at the American forces, while carrying out breaking in operations in Falouja city, to the west of Baghdad.
