AL chief denies Syria to have mass destruction weapons
Syria-Regional, Politics, 1/8/2004
Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa Wednesday denied Syria possessing weapons of mass destruction, though it ( Syria ) has the right, as many other countries in the Middle East, to possess weapons to defend itself, in the face of Israel which is the only side that possesses such weapons.
In an interview with al- Arabia TV channel, Moussa said that Syria doesn't possess mass destruction weapons or nuclear weapons, criticizing the US baseless and unjustified accusations against Syria that it has such kinds of weapons.
He warned that Israel constitutes a dangerous threat to the security and stability in the Middle East, because it is the only side that possesses mass destruction weapons.
