New American ambassador arrives in Damascus

The American embassy in Damascus said that the new US ambassador to Syria Margaret Scooby arrived in Damascus to resume her work.
A source at the embassy said that "Scooby arrived on Sunday in Damascus." She is assuming the post of the ambassador in Damascus in succession of Theodore Kattouf who retired in August this year. Since then the embassy, had been run by the charge de affairs.
