Syria calls on UN Security Council to hold a consultation session today on a ME free from mass destruction weapons
Syria-UN, Politics, 12/29/2003

Syria has asked the Security Council to hold a consultation session on Monday 29th of December to discuss a draft resolution she had submitted before on behalf of the Arab group on freeing the Middle East from Weapons of Mass Destruction, particularly the nuclear weapons.

Syria's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Faisal Mikdad underlined that there is no reason for not supporting the draft resolution, stressing the importance of freeing the region of these weapons, and avoiding a double-standard policy.
