UN Security Council extends for UNDOF in the Golan

The UN Security Council yesterday extended the mission of the UN forces serving in the occupied Syrian Golan heights for 6 months.
The 15 members of the UN security council voted unanimously for extension to UNDOF forces of more than 1000 troops for an additional 6 months that expire in June 2004.
Earlier this month, the UN secretary general Kofi Annan recommended for extension to UNDOF which was established in 1974, following the October war of 1973 between Syria, Egypt and Israel.
