Sudan, Politics, 12/23/2003
The Kenyan mediator in the Sudanese negotiations Lazaraos Simbayo said yesterday that the government and the southern rebels have approached a settlement for almost all their differences, on how to share resources as soon as peace is established.
Simbayo said in Nivasha that a resource sharing agreement might be signed today morning. He added "the signing might or might be not signed ( today) depending on how the two sides solve pending issues concerning sharing of resources."
He said " they say they have 10% of the differences have not been resolved yet. Committees ( of the negotiators) are still meeting."
