Iran appoints a charge de affairs in Iraq
Iraq-Iran, Politics, 12/23/2003

The Iranian official news agency said yesterday that Tehran appointed Hassan Kazimi Qummi as the charge de affairs of the Islamic republic of Iran in Iraq.

The agency said that the "general department for the press and the media" at the Iranian foreign ministry as noting that this decision came at the initiative of the foreign minister Kamal Kharazai, ratified by the Iranian President Muhammad Khatami. Earlier Kazimi Qummi occupied the post of Iran's general Consol in Harrat, Afghanistan.

Meantime, Iran said yesterday, as reported by its news agency IRNA, that "The Islamic Republic of Iran is deeply concerned about the aftermaths of such irresponsible remarks," by Paul Bremer, the US administrator of Iraq, on Sunday night where he said that the Mojahedin Khalq
Organization (MKO) sympathizers in Iraq, whom the
US-appointed Interim Iraqi Governing Council 'has ordered to leave Iraq
will be sent to three neutral countries, without naming them."

"By making such comments, the Americans prove they are not sincere in
their claims of pioneering the international campaign against
terrorism," Iran said. It added , "Adopting double-standards in campaign
against terrorism, and dividing them into good and bad terrorists
ruins the whole image of the said campaign."
