Morocco deplores non ratification by rich countries of migrant workers rights convention
Regional-Morocco, Politics, 12/19/2003

The Moroccan human rights minister has deplored the non ratification by some rich countries of the International Convention on migrant workers rights, who were keen to adhere to other "less important" conventions.

Addressing a meeting, in Rabat Thursday, on "the international convention on the protection of the rights of all migrant workers and their family members," Mohamed Aujjar said that the ratification of this convention constitutes "an important step" to enrich the international law, insisting that the non adherence of immigration bound countries deprives migrant workers from a more humanitarian treatment.
