Al-Fayez A summer fog disturbs relations with Syria
Jordan-Syria, Politics, 12/19/2003

The Jordanian prime minister Faisal al-Fayez said that there are several matters that interfere with the relations between his country and Syria, but he stressed that all these are just "a summer fog."

In an interview with Middle East Monte Carlo radio in Amman yesterday, al-Fayez said that there "are certain matters that violate relations with Syria, which are all a summer fog that will pass away."

He considered that statements made by the Jordanian King Abdullah II in Washington about the sneaking of foreign fighters to Iraq through the Iraqi- Syrian border as "having been misinterpreted and placed in a context different from that pronounced by the King." But al-Fayez gave no further clarifications.
