There is no tension between justice department and magistrates, minister
Morocco, Judicial, 12/18/2003

Justice minister, Mohammed Bouzoubaa, said there is no tension between his department and magistrates, dubbing press reports on protests among magistrates as "artificial."

Speaking Tuesday in question time at the House of Advisers (parliament upper chamber), the minister said the campaign is "an attempt to influence ongoing trials of drug lords and their accomplices after measures were taken to shield the judicial system and honest magistrates."

Answering a question on charges against a magistrate, Bouzoubaa said he is sued for professional transgressions, insisting that the procedure is carried out in accordance with the laws in force.

"The justice family is resolved to cut off tumors infecting it and make its reforming and moralization process a success," Bouzoubaa said.
