Morocco donates foodstuffs to Mauritanian Children

Morocco donated Tuesday foodstuffs to various children protection centers in Mauritania.
The donation was handed over by the Moroccan cultural center in Nouakchott during a ceremony organised on this occasion.
Abderrahman Benomar, the Moroccan ambassador to Nouakchott, Mauritanian senior officials, the UNICEF representative in Mauritania and the presidents of many local humanitarian organizations attended the ceremony, which was organized in coordination with the UNICEF representation in Mauritania.
The charitable operation is the second initiative made this year. Last summer, the Moroccan Cultural Center organised a large concert performed by the Mauritanian singer Malouma Ben Al Midah. The incomes of the show were donated to children protection organizations.
According to official statistics, 35% of Mauritanian children suffer from malnutrition, which directly causes the death of 50% of the country's children.
