al-Rai: Jordan: a plan targeting the ruling regime disclosed
Jordan, Politics, 12/18/2003

The Jordanian daily al-Rai said yesterday that the security forces foiled a "terrorist" plan aiming at toppling the regime, with the participation of three men who will be tried before the state's security court later this month.

The paper quoted specialized security sources saying that three persons "who have the mentality of holding the ruler as unbeliever," are involved in the plan which was organized by Ahmad Fadeel al-Khalaeylah, better known as Abu Mus'ab, a Jordanian who is fleeing from the face of justice.

On the other hand, some 60 prisoners in Berin prison, in al-Zarqaa area to the west of Amman, complained in a strong expression against the short visits permitted to them, and this was expressed in stabbing themselves by knives in a protest which is the first of its kind in the Jordanian prisons.
