Morocco committed to enforce retirement reforms by 2004

Moroccan Prime minister, Driss Jettou, affirmed Monday that the government will concretize compulsory sickness insurance (AMO) and reforms in retirement schemes by 2004.

Jettou underlined in the opening speech of a colloquy on "reforms in retirement schemes in Morocco," that the government is determined to take "boldly and courageously" all the necessary measures that guarantee these reforms will be carried out.

In spite of several problems, the Premier aid, social schemes play important roles in preserving purchasing power of some social categories and contributing to the development of national savings.

Several figures were present at the two-day colloquy, mainly concerned ministers, seniors officials and local authorities representatives.
