Mrs. Asmaa al-Assad highlights environmental issues with Greek sides concerned

In the frameworks of the meetings held in Athens on Monday with a number of international organizations and domestic institutions in Athens, Syruia's First Lady Asmaa al-Assad stressed the necessity for activating the role of non governmental organizations' role in the fields of environment and durable development.
In this Context, a memo of understanding was signed between UN Program of Environmental Affairs and the Syrian side in an implementation of Barcelona convention of 1997.
During the meeting of Mrs. al-Assad briefed the participants on the development process Syria and the necessity for individuals to be more active in society.
Later, a meeting held between Mrs. Asmaa and the board of directors of "al-Moutawasiti " Institution, and a memo of cooperation between Syria and Greece was signed in the economic, cultural, political and social fields.
Mrs. al-Assad talked about the similarities between culture and society in Syria and Greece adding that the most important assets in Syria are its citizens.
