Employee steals about 180,000 from bank in Agadir
Morocco, Local, 12/2/2003
An employee of a bank in Agadir (southwestern Morocco) has embezzled 1.6 million Dirham (about US$ 180,000) from his agency after carrying out illegal transfers from the bank's accounts to accounts he opened at other banks, authorities said.
The man, who has been working for the bank for 16 years, was unveiled when an employee at another recipient bank was astonished by the large amounts that have been transferred to the culprit account since last August.
His colleagues said the dishonest bank employee did not show any sign of nervousness and seemed to be performing his daily duties normally.
In the meantime, the bank employee has managed to flee.
