Appeal court clears trade chamber president of polls fraud charges

The appeal court of Marrakesh acquitted Monday the president of the chamber of trade, industry and services, Habib Berdai, sentenced to 10 months in jail for fraud in the last September's local polls.
Berdai, affiliated to the Party "National Rally of Independents" (RNI) had also been sentenced to a 1,000 DH ($100) fine and 5 years of illegibility.
In the same case, another individual sued for the same charges had its jail sentence cut from 6 to 3 months.
