Egypt's oil exports hit over $147 m in August

Egypt's exports of crude oil and its derivatives hit more than $147 m in August, the Petroleum Ministry said in a statement on Friday.

The production of crude oil and condensates reached 3.938 m tons in August, read the statement.

But 1.938 m tons were consumed for the same period, it added. For the natural gas areas and offshore fields, the production registered 1.993 m tons. About 65 % of which was directed for power-generating stations in the most populous Arab state

The Middle East Oil Refinery (MIDOR) is currently meeting 25% of the country's needs of the once-imported kerosene.
