Al-Miqrahi will spend 27 years in prison, at least

The Supreme Court in Glasko, Scoland, decided yesterday that the Libyan Abdul Baset al-Miqrahi, who was sentenced for life in January 2001, after being convicted to blowing up the American Pan American plane over Lockerbie in 1988, should at least spend 27 years in prison.
The Scottish judges while reading the sentence against al-Miqrahi on January 31st, 2001, recommended that the penalty should not be less than 20 years. The supreme court in Glasko yesterday took its decision in the light of the European Treaty for Human Rights which states that a convicted persons should be notified of his imprisonment period, adopted by the Scottish law in 2001.
