Oman's economy grows at 5.7 per year

Oman reported that the national economy since the adoption of the future vision plan in 1996 saw continuous growth that "averaged 5.7% at current prices for the period from 1996-2002..that led to positive improvement in the individualÕs average income and living standards with per capita income increased at an annual rate of 3.1% to RO. 3077 in 2003 from RO. 1390 in 1995 and that was despite the 2.5% rise in population growth rate," the official news agency reported.
The was reported yesterday by Ahmed bin Abdul Nabi Macki, Minister of National Economy and Deputy Chairman of the Financial Affairs and Energy Resources Council.
