Over 40 thousand couples divorce in Morocco annually

Some 41,000 divorce cases are recorded in Morocco annually, including 58% against a compensation paid by the woman, said member of the consultative commission in charge of family law reform, Zhor El Horr, at a colloquy held here November 19 through 20 on "novelties of the family code project."
In her presentation titled "New divorce-related provisions," Zhor El Horr added that under the new reforms "divorce will be subject to strict legal procedures."
