Lahoud confers with US task force Lebanon delegation
Lebanon-USA, Politics, 11/20/2003

Lebanon's President Emile Lahoud on Wednesday said that Syrian-Lebanese summits aims at boosting bilateral relations, particularly under current conditions in the region which require constant consultation in a strategic option the two states are pursuing regarding the Arab-Israeli conflict.

President Lahoud told the U.S. "Task Force Lebanon" delegation in a meeting that Syrian-Lebanese ties are exemplary for solidarity among countries in general and the Arab states in particular.

He pointed out that the Zionist lobby was behind the U.S. Congressional legislation called "Syria Accountability Act," adding that "Israel is the party that should be held responsible for its continued aggressions on the region and world security and stability."

Lahoud praised the Lebanon-U.S. relations and said dialogue was necessary, emphasizing his country's interest in improving bilateral ties in various fields with Washington.
