Air Portugal resumes flights to Morocco in 2004
Morocco-Portugal, Economics, 11/19/2003
Air Portugal (TAP) has decided to resume its flights to Morocco in 2004, said Monday the company's president, Antonio Cardoso E Cunha, following a meeting with Moroccan visiting transport and equipment minister, Karim Ghellab.
However, he said there is no final agreement on the flights schedule, mainly the frequency of flights and the cities to be serviced.
Ghellab said the opening of new lines will help in promoting the destination of Morocco that is targeting to attract 10 million tourists by 2010.
Air Portugal stopped servicing Morocco in 1991 while the Moroccan company ceased flights to Portugal in January 2002. A Moroccan private company "Regional Airlines" is operating since 1999 three flights daily between Casablanca and Lisbon.
