Mauritania: Weld Mubarak forms the new government

In a statement, the Mauritania presidency announced that the prime minister Sagheir Wild Mubarak, who was re-appointed by President Mu'aweya Wild Taye' to form the government yesterday, formed a news government in which he kept several former ministers.

The new government included 8 new ministers including one woman, Zalkha Bint Hilal, who was appointed as minister of Justice. Most of the new ministers are of the young generations who were a major factor in the election campaign of President Wild Taye'.

Weld Mubarak's assignment to form a new government, just hours after the president accepted his resignation after the announcement of Mauritania's constitutional council officially that Taye' won the presidential elections last Friday which the opposition refused to recognize its results.

On the other hand, the lawyer of the candidate of the presidency Muhammad Khouna Weld Hedallah, who is currently detained under pretext of being involved in "planning to topple the regime by violence" said that "Weld Hedallah was prevented form appealing before the Constitutional Council his detention which took place just hours after the voting operations."
