Pertro Canada gets oil and gas rights in Syria

A contract on oil and gas excavation and production was signed in Damascus yesterday between Syrian Petroleum Company ( SPC ) and Canadian Pertro Canada Co.
The contract was signed by Oil and Mineral Resources Minister Ibrahim Haddad and SPC's General Director Ahmad Muaala on the Syrian side, and Petro - Canada's Department.
According to the said contract, Syrian government grants SPC and Petro Canada the exclusive right to excavate for oil and its productions in the region north of Syria.
