S. Korea exports to Morocco assessed at us $95 mln in 2002

South Korea's exports to Morocco were evaluated at US $95 million in 2002 while Morocco exported US $49 million-worth of goods to South Korea in the same year, said south Korean ambassador to Morocco, Chang Il Park.

In an interview published Wednesday by the Moroccan daily "l'Opinion," Park hailed the quality of Moroccan-South Korean relations, recalling the signing of an agreement to promote trade exchanges between the two countries. He pointed out that the accord of non-double taxation will have a positive impact on Moroccan-Korean trade.

Park announced that the two countries are currently negotiating and finalizing accords related to air and sea transport and tourism.

The South Korean official added that Morocco voiced will to learn from his country's experience in the organization of the world soccer cup, underlining that the north African country has genuine assets that should be highlighted.

The diplomat called the Moroccan government to make more efforts to acquaint the Koreans with the country, underlining that only 4,950 Koreans visited the kingdom in 2002.
