Tel Aviv ratifies prisoners exchange with Hizbullah
Lebanon-Israel, Politics, 11/10/2003
The Israeli government has agreed to exchange prisoners between Israel and Hizbullah, finalized by a German mediation.
Some 12 members in the Israeli government gave their votes for the deal against 11 who opposed it. However, one Israeli minister said that the deal will not include the first Lebanese prisoner in the Israeli jails Sameer al-Qintar.
The secretary general of the Lebanese Hizbullah party Hassan Nasrullah announced on Saturday that the deal will not be made if Israel opposes the release of Sameer al-Qintar.
