Moroccan famed painter passes away

Moroccan famed painter, Mohamed Kacimi passed away this Monday morning, after a long illness, the culture ministry announced. Born in 1942 in Meknes (150 km northeast of Rabat), Kacimi, who was also a poet, held his first exhibition in 1960 in Rabat. He later on displayed his paintings in several countries.
In 1994, Kacimi obtained the first prizes at the 4th international pastel biennial in Saint-Quenton (France) and at the 5th international biennial in Cairo. The late painter also wrote several books.
