King Mohammed congratulates Muslim leaders on Ramadan
Morocco-Regional, Religion, 10/28/2003
Morocco's King Mohammed VI has sent congratulations messages to leaders of Islamic countries on the advent of Ramadan, which starts this Monday in Morocco.
In his message, the sovereign stresses the importance of adherence to the values of solidarity, brotherhood, cooperation and union as a means to overcome challenges facing some Muslim countries and peoples.
The king also calls on the Islamic nation to translate in fact the lofty values preached by Islam so as to reflect the true image of Islam, its lofty goals, the universality of its message, its calling as a religion that upholds the happy medium and moderation and rejects extremism, violence, ignorance and under-development.
After expressing Morocco's total support to the Palestinian people's legitimate right to establish their independent state with Al-Quds Asharif as a capital, the Royal message stresses that the holy month incites all Muslims, leaders and peoples, to consolidate their solidarity in the interest of Muslim peoples and for the preservation of their state's sovereignty, unity and greatness and encourages them to unify their ranks for the triumph of Muslims' first cause, that of Palestine and Al-Quds Asharif.
