Iraqi official described visit to Syria as fruitful

Assistant Secretary General of the Central Arab Iraqi Sheikhs and Tribes Council, Ali Khalifa described his discussions with Syria's Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara yesterday as fruitful stressing that the discussions contribute in maintaining Iraq's unity and overcoming the Iraqi crisis.
In a statement to reporters, Khalifa stressed the importance of ending the American occupation and restoring the Iraqi role among the Arab states. He also underlined the council's efforts to maintain Iraq's unity stressing the council's aspiration for a new developed Iraq.
