Al-Asqa group claims responsibility for Ghoushe Kative; PA deplores the Israeli aggression in al-Zahraa city
Palestine-Israel, Military, 10/27/2003

The Palestinian Authority has denounced the Israeli occupation forces demolishing of three buildings belonging to the authority in al-Zahraa city in Gaza under the pretext that they overlook a Jewish settlement and described this act as " a crime."

Nabil Abu Rudinah, the advisor of the Palestinian President Yasser Arafat said "this is a new crime within a series of the daily Israeli crimes," threatening that "these provocations will not passed unpunished."

Abu Rudinah called on the Israelis to return back to the table of negotiations instead of military attacks "which will only bring more escalation and counter violence, noting that the Israeli violence will result in heavy consequences." The Palestinian negotiations affairs minister Saeb Oreikat described the Israeli army demolishing of the housing towers as "a war crime." He called on the Quartet especially the US to interfere immediately to halt the Israeli crimes.

News reports quoted Palestinian security forces saying that the occupation army withdrew from the city after bombarding the towers inhabited by employees of the Palestinian preventive security and their families.

The reports said that the attack came as a revenge reaction to the Palestinian operation which was carried out in Natsareim settlement where three Palestinian soldiers were killed and other two wounded.

Before the bombardment operation, the Israeli forces evacuated about 2,000 persons from the towers which alleged that armed groups used it to plan for attacking the settlement last Friday and this resulted in killing the three Israeli soldiers.

On the other hand, al-Aqsa martyrs groups, the military wing of the Fatah movement, in a statement, claimed responsibility for the Fedeyaan operation against Ghoushe Kative settlements complex.

The statement said that the executor of the operation, Rami Alyan ( 21 year old), was killed while executing the operation.

Palestinian security and military sources announced that the body of the martyr who was killed yesterday at dawn near an Israeli military position in the surrounding of Ghoushe Kative settlements complex to the south of Gaza was handed over to the Palestinians.
