Al-Assad concludes constructive visit to Qatar

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad on Friday returned back home concluding a fruitful and successful two-day visit to Qatar.
During his visit, accopmanied by foreign, trade and tourism ministers, President al-Assad held talks with Amir of Qatar, Shaikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani on the bilateral relations and the situation in the region.
Qatari Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Hamad Bin Jasem Bin Jaber al-Thani stressed in Doha yesterday that President Bashar al-Assad's visit to Qatar will enhance joint Arab action and bilateral relations.
In a statement to the press delegation accompanying the President, Hammad described the Syrian-Qatari discussions as "fruitful and constructive" referring to the signed agreements which represent a typical and positive step in bilateral relations.
For their parts, Qatari Assistant Foreign Minister, Syrian Assistant Foreign Minister and Qatar's Ambassador to Syria stressed the importance of President al-Assad's visit to Qatar.
In a statements to Qatari al-Sharq newspaper, they said that this visit comes in the framework of the distinguished relations between the two states asserting that President al-Assad's visit will enhance the coordination on the bilateral and the Arab levels as well as regarding the regional and international issues.
They added that President al-Assad's visit will open doors widely in front of the joint cooperation and action.
Meantime, President Bashar al-Assad received yesterday at his residence in Doha a delegation representing the Syrian community in Qatar and briefed them on the situation and the activities of the community in Qatar.
Then, President al-Assad reviewed the modernization and development process Syria is witnessing. He encouraged the community to continue contact with its motherland and to participate in building it through establishing investment projects in it.
