Morocco Wins Arab Golf Amateurs Championship

Moroccan Golf team has won the 24th edition of the Arab Golf Championship (Amateurs) played, here October 15-18 on the Links of Royal Golf Dar Es-Salam in Rabat.
The Moroccan team, made up of Yassine Benslimane, Abdelhaq Sabi, Fathallah Karrakchou and Hicham Yacoubi, ousted the holder of the 2002 edition, Bahrain with 900 shots.
Bahrain ranked second with 917 shots, followed by Lebanon (948 shots).
In the individual category (Stroke play), Moroccan golfer Abdelhaq Sabi, won the competition with 292 shots, followed by his compatriot Yassine Benslimane (306 shots), while Bahraini Abdullah Sultan Al-Hakam ranked third with 307 shots.
Fourteen Arab states participated in this tournament.
The 25th edition of the Arab Golf Championship will be held in 2004 in Bahrain.
