King Carlos meet with Muslim, Christian clergymen in Damascus

King of Spain Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia met in Damascus at their residence in Teshreen Palace a number of Islamic and Christian clergymen in Syria.

"We are in Syria, under the leadership of President Bashar al Ð Assad, live a religious distinguished fraternity life as Muslims and Christians building the home of security and peace," Syria's Awqaf Minister, Muhammad Zeada said at the meeting.

King Carlos thanked the Clergymen and expressed hope that Clergymen will continue their message to serve peoples, security and stability in the world.

Patriarch Ignatius IV Hazim, the Patriarch of Antakya and all the East, for his part said that "coexistence and religious fraternity between Muslims and Christians in Syria are stemmed from dialogue, love and understanding expressing hope that dialogue will prevail among religions all over the world."
