People's aggregation in the center of Riyadh at the invitation of the opposition
Hundreds of Saudi Arabian citizens gathered yesterday afternoon near the trade center in al-Elleya street in the downtown of the capital, Riyadh, at the invitation of the opposition Islamic movement for reforms in protest of detentions, the movement says. This was, however, a unique sort of political drive in Saudi Arabia.

Child labor and Development, how UNICEF is addressing this issue
More boys than girls are economically active overall. However, in rural districts as many girls as boys are employed. While child workers in towns and cities work in various manufacturing businesses (textile, furniture, mining, food and beverages), child labor in the countryside is totally dominated by farm work. The vast majority of child workers have dropped out of school; they work long hours as adults do; and children receive very low payment, or nothing at all (50%). In addition to the children being classified as employed following the ILO criterion, the study reveals that about 360,000 children, mostly girls, aged 10-17 have left school and have care taking and housework as their main activity.

Suicide bombing strikes Turkish embassy in Baghdad

Libyan problems in negotiations with Paris
Just one day after the resumption of compensation negotiations between Libya and families of the French Ota plane, the chairman of the Libyan negotiation delegation in Paris, Salah Abdul Salam, yesterday announced that Libya suspended the negotiations after in that "Paris had denied a secret agreement with Tripoli on paying additional compensations for the families of the victims of the "DC 10" plane which was blown up over Niger in 1989.
