Morocco, Local, 10/15/2003
Mrocco's King Mohammed VI on Monday received at the royal palace members of the consultative commission in charge of the reform of the family law ("Mudawana"), chaired by M'hammed Boucetta, and decorated three of them. Miloud Laksir, Omar Chrifi and Chiba Maalainaine, received the Moukafaa Al Watania (national reward) distinction for efforts at the commission.
King Mohammed VI had on Friday announced reforms of the family law in a speech opening the parliament fall, which were broadly applauded as "revolutionary."
