Nazif: Internet security, intellectual property, access to information must

"The preparatory conference of the International Information Summit that will be organized by the International Union for Wire and Wireless Communication at the end of November will focus on a number of issues and essential principles to be discussed at the summit,

Particularly in the light of mounting differences between the countries on internet security, the rights to intellectual property and access to information, "said Egypt's Minister of Communications Ahmed Nazif on the sideline of Egypt's participation for the first time in the activities of "World Telecom 2003 Conference."

ÊÊÊ Dr. Nazif said that although Egypt participates for the first time in the "World Telecom Conference 2003," we are keen to take part with a lot of companies in different domains to express the development and great changes that the Egyptian communication and technology industry has witnessed.

Nazif points out that with the beginning of January, the Communication Ministry will start to carry out the new initiative to construct the Egyptian information technology community and maximize the benefit from this technology in the field of electronic education, distance treatment and spreading informative culture, particularly after completing the infrastructure work that begins in 1999 to provide free internet services and computer for every person, in addition to increasing phone lines and users of mobile phones.

This is not to mention providing electronic governmental services and launching the so-called "smart education" in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.
