Hizbullah and the threats against Syria
Lebanon-Syria, Politics, 10/13/2003

Secretary General of the Lebanese Hizbullah Party Hassan Nasrullah, described Israel's latest aggression on the Syrian lands as a dangerous development and a reflection of the dilemma of Israel's Ariel Sharon and his army.

In a ceremony sponsored by Lebanese civic societies last night, Nassrullah indicated that "Sharon's attempt to get around the big (internal political) impasse of his cabinet by targeting Syria and Lebanon is an attempt to flee towards the abyss. Israel is in a predicamentÉand Sharon at his lowest level of popularity because of his inability to end the IntifadaÉand exhausted all his means as he had already done in Lebanon," he added.

The Hizbollah leader pointed out that the approval by the U.S. House Foreign Relation's Committee on the so-called Syria Accountability Act is only done for the service of Israel.
