Shaaban Mid-month celebration observed

The Islamic Trusts (Waqfs) Ministry on Friday organized a religious ceremony marking the Shaaban (Hijri month ) Mid-month Celebration at Damascus Al-Osman Mosque.
Syria's President Bashar Al-Assad was represented at the celebration by the Minister of Waqfs Muhammad Zeada. Attending the religious celebration were a host of state officials and Moslem Muftis and clergymen along with a large crowd of people.
Sheikh Mohammad Khair Fatima said in a speech the celebration represents a reflection of the meaning of time and linking the nation with history.
He added that "believers get use of this religious Celebration to revive commitment to spiritual teachings and their positive effects on the life of man."
Sheikh Fatima stressed that "Syria's principled stances under the leadership of President Bashra al-Assad are clear-cut positions which reflect commitment to rightful peace based on national and pan-Arab stances."
Also on this religious occasion, President al-Assad received a cable from the Minister of Waqf in which he said that Moslems annually celebrate this blessed Night where Almighty God bestows mercy and clemency to the repentant and remorseful.
