Arab League warns of consequences to US sanctions on Syria
Regional-Syria-USA, Politics, 10/10/2003

Arab League has stressed that an adoption of the so-called "Syria Accountability Act" sanctions legislation, and the US accusations against Syria, will increase tension situations in the Middle East and will block the way for peace.

In a statement issued yesterday in Cairo, the Arab League's official spokesman expressed AL's deep concern over the baseless accusations launched by Israel and adopted by the US Administration.

The spokesman stressed that the US legislation being considered by the Congress to sanction Syria, coincides with the latest Israeli aggression on Syria, provokes questions about the double assault (coordinated) against Syria in the current situation.

Worth noting, that the US is placing strong and multitude of pressure to force Syria to change its political position and role on several of regional issues.
