Two gas liquefaction plants for North Sinai
Egypt, Economics, 10/8/2003

Egypt's Minister of Petroleum Sameh Fahmi yesterday gave the go -ahead for two natural gas liquefaction plants in North Sinai.

The plants will provide 7,000 jobs, North Sinai Governor, Field Marshal Ahmed Abdul Hamid said yesterday, adding that both facilities will be built at a cost of LE 2 billion by two petroleum investment companies and will be operational in 2005.

The first project will be located between the villages of Balouza and Rommana in the west of the governorate, and the second will be constructed east of el-Arish.
