Choice of Morocco location for Alexander the Great due to many reasons, oliver stone
Morocco, Economics, 10/8/2003

The choice of Morocco as a shooting location for "Alexander the Great" was due to many reasons, most importantly Morocco's substantial help in addition to its geographical diversity, British director Oliver Stone said here Monday.

Stone expressed at a press conference held on the sidelines of the third international Film Festival of Marrakesh that opened on October 3 his fondness of Morocco which he already visited in 1995, 1996 and 1998.

The filming of the US $200 million movie in Morocco is going on in good conditions, noted the director who was accompanied by Irish actor, Colin Farell and producer, Thomas Schuly.

Stone, who was extended a trophy in homage of his works, explained that after Morocco, the movie will be shot in London, then in Thailand.
