Member of Al Hijra Wattakfir undergroud group get four years in jail
Morocco, Local, 10/4/2003
The appeal court of Rabat sentenced Thursday to four years in jail Omar Jalil for belonging to the underground extremist group "Al Hijra Wattkfir." Jalil had been sentenced last August to three years by a first instance court.
The appeal court maintained for ten other members of the same group sentences handed down by the first instance court: Two to three years in jail and a 1,000 dirham ($100) fine.
The group was sued for charges including undermining Muslims' faith, endangering sacred values and holding unauthorized meetings.
