Five policemen injured in an attack in Bahrain
Bahrain, Local, 10/4/2003

Five policemen in Bahrain were strongly wounded in an attack by an explosive bomb thrown at their patrol in Satra city, 5 Km to the south of the capital Manama.

Bahrain's official news agency quoted an official at the ministry of the interior as saying that a bus carrying policemen including 12 persons was exposed to an attack by unidentified attackers who threw a Molotov bomb at their vehicle and this resulted in wounding five of them with one in critical condition.

An official did not declare any detention of the attackers who were able to flee but said that investigation continues over the attack which took place on Thursday evening describing it as "terrorist."

Bahrain, however, is the headquarters of the fifth American fleet and this year the Bahraini authorities detained five persons under the pretext of planning for "terrorist acts.
