French associations stage humanitarian car race for Moroccan handicapped persons
Morocco-France, Culture, 10/2/2003

Three associations from southwestern France are staging this October 4-20 a "humanitarian 4X4 race" that will hand out a 20 cubic meter-donation of paramedical equipment to a local association of handicapped persons in southern Moroccan city of Warzazate and school equipment to a school.

Accompanying the race will be a 17-member team of French handicapped persons. One of the race sponsors is the French association "Decouverte, partages et amitie entre les peuples" (Discovery, sharing and friendship among peoples) grouping four-wheel drive cars fans who put their passion at the service of the poorest people, particularly in Africa, and collect medicine and medical equipment.

The two other sponsor organizations are "handicap, reves et liberte" (handicap, dreams and freedom) and "Oxygene sud-ouest" (Oxygen south-west).
